Hiking - Trekking

Naxos is a place for watersports and action. The beaches of Naxos are well-known for the ideal conditions they offer to the enthusiasts of all sorts of watersports.

At Saint George Bay and in Plaka beach there are watersport centres that offer jet ski, water skiing, singles ski, wakeboard, wakeskate, knee board, tubes-ringos, banana-boat, fly manta ray, pedalo, canoe-kayak, SUP (stand up paddleboard), body board, skimboard. Windsurfing

Naxos Island is the surfing paradise for beginners or advanced. 4-5 Bft wind speed at Saint George Bay are is ideal for Slalom Boards and 6 Bft it is ideal for wave freaks where there are waves that are between 1 and 2.5 m high, that break at offshore riffs. The place is ideal for beginners and the advanced to get first contact with surfing or to perfect your abilities. It is also ideal for speed or manoeuvre freaks.

Mikri Vigla is an excellent place for wind and kitesurfing. If you want to combine kite and windsurfing in Naxos in one spot, this is the place to go. There are two surfing centres for hiring equipment and training. If you are individual and you have your own equipment, you just go and enjoy.

There is a water sports centre in Plaka Beach where equipment hiring and training is available. Kalstraki (Glyfada) and Alyko (the north section of Alyko) are two more excellent places for wind surfing individuals.
Kite surfing is forbidden at Saint George bay (Naxos Town) because of the nearby airport.
