Apollon in north Naxos

Apollon beach is located at the the northern so-named coastal village of the island. It combines golden sand with small pebbles and it attracts families with children, couples, nature lovers and fishing enthusiasts. It is also a popular for day trippers.

There are taverns and cafe - bars by the waterfront. Apollon can be reached by the coastal road (38 Km) or the mainland road (55 Km).

West and above the seaside village Apollo is one of the two ancient quarries of Naxos Island, where the massive Kouros statue lies on the ground. Kouros statue is 10 metres long, it dates back to the 7th century BC and it is considered to be the god Dionysos or the god Apollo.
